It was at Jaili about 20km north of Tainan on highway 19.
It was the candy festival held in the old Jaili sugar refinery yard. The yard has been converted to a large festival ground.
Here is a Google Map of the location.

Hey, I was wondering where the candy factory was. I live in Tainan but haven't been there or heard of it before. Please do tell!

Joel,
The venue was an old sugar cane yard and the exhibitions were in old sugar store houses. The statue does look a bit like Chen Shui-bien. You know Tainan is a deep green DPP strong-hold. I guess they are unlikely to make a statue of a sugar cane vendor look like Ma Ying-jeou.

Nice collection of photos of your day out. Did anyone O.D. on candy? Any free candy worth eating? And what were those statues by the portapots? One looks like Chen Shui-bien. Made out of chocolate?
