Save the suburban sprawl, urban streets and insecticide fields, butterflies are quite plentiful in Taiwan. There are so many amazing insects in Taiwan that you could discover a new one every day. And after years, still find one that surprises you.
The thunder clouds have been threatening for a while but today Kaohsiung received it’s first large showers of the plum rains that signal the start of the long hot humid summer ahead.
It must be said that the range of beautiful insects in Taiwan is truly amazing.
Not much survives the blanket spraying practised on the agricultural lands. There are few really interesting insects in and around our street. But if you move away from the betel nut groves and rice fields into the forests in the mountains you are overwhelmed with the range insects.
