You really enjoyed Kaohsiung. Do make sure you return to Kaohsiung. You will be surprised at just how much it has changed in a few years.

Super Pictures, Superwords. I my self had two fantastic years in Kaohsiung and lived at Da Shun Lu and Also next to Ai He and Wu Fu Shi Lu where the bridge is crossing. I was working for a danish company there and got married to my wife which is from Shanghai, meanwhile she also gave birth to our firstborn. My weekends was spent some times going to Kenting and also visiting friends in Taipei, either by bus or train. I as well visited my wife and family in Shanghai whilst staying in Kaohsiung. I as you, remember the good market on Chin Chin Island although also remember the sand was completely black due to dirt. I hope I soon will have the chance to revert to the wonderful southern place of Formosa again. ;=)

Hi There,

Thanks for your kind words about my blog. It is sadly neglected these days as I am writing my thesis and vowed that should take priority over any travel stories. Yes, I think you like me love travelling. Not a day passes that I dont wish I was on a bus in a weird country eating strange food and meeting new and interesting people. I will add quite a bit more on Uzbekistan soon (I hope) once my thesis is done.

Once again, thanks for the great blog. I will be reading it to get some tips for places to visit in the South. I have always lived in Taipei and don't know the South that well.

Godspeed, safe travels

Yes, two years is short but Taiwan is never too far away.
What a great blog you run. Lots of great travel stories of your own. Ahh, it always makes me want to travel some more when I read travel stories of places like Uzbekistan or New Zealand.

I am so sorry to only find your blog now that you are leaving. A friend pointed me to it today. It is a great blog with a lot of great tips. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to reading your articles over the next while. Good luck on your trip home.

For me, two years is too short. Ten years later I am still chugging along.

Take care and happy travels.

Thank you and farewell all you commenters on Shan Ding Lu,

Brad,
Yes, Taiwan will always be a big part of our family. It will never be too far away.

Cindy,
Too bad we didn't get a chance to hike one of those beautiful mountains together. Another time I am sure.

Henry, Yi-Chen, Carrie,
Australia doesn't have the same photo and blogging appeal as Taiwan. But I am missing it already and can feel some "Shann Street" photo stories just waiting to be told. I'll keep you posted.

Adrian,
I'll miss those Flickr meets and Tuesdays too. Make sure to post plenty from your monthly meets.

Joel,
Return we most certainly will. In Australia you are always welcome.

Todd, David, MJ, Carrie, Kaminoge, Craig,
I feel like I know you all well. Keep up the blogging, you have an eager reader in Australia.
