Though you can take a site tour of the facility, we chose to continue riding around the island instead.
I suspect the facility was built in a time when good “public relations” was not a priority for the government.
Glad you enjoyed the write up. I’m sure you would enjoy Lanyu also.

I agree, for such a small country there is an amazing variety of things to see and do. Specially if you are nature or outdoors inclined.

We went with the extended family to Lanyu in the summer of 2007. We had a great time. It was just as you described it–very relaxing. We also spend our days in the water or traveling around the island.

I’d like to go to Green Island or Penghu next time we venture off of the main island. Taiwan is a small country, but there is so much to see…

Lanyu is a very worthwhile getaway from Taiwan. I can highly recommend it.

Looks like it was a terrific adventure. I really like the colors of the sky in the first photo, and I had to take a second look at the last one before I figured out it’s a pig, not a dog. Great photo essay Stephen! I enjoyed it.
